Chinar Yuva Centre, Baramulla

Supported by ONGC & Indian Army

This initiative was awarded the ASM CSR Impact Award 2025 at the ASM CSR Summit held in Pune, in Feb 2025.

Inaugurated in 2016, Chinar YUVA, formerly Chinar Nau Jawan Club was established with a vision to empower the youth of Baramulla by equipping them with essential skills and facilitating job placements, enabling them to become part of the mainstream workforce. The center focuses on the holistic development of local youth, contributing to the social and economic progress of the region.

In 2024, Aseem Foundation, in collaboration with ONGC and the Indian Army, took up the project with the aim of expanding its impact and bringing structured programs, industry exposure, and additional resources to the center. Today, Aseem Foundation oversees the operation of four courses at Chinar YUVA, designed to equip students with practical skills, industry exposure, and recognized certifications to improve their employability and career prospects.

Today, Aseem Foundation oversees the operation of five courses at Chinar YUVA, designed to equip students with practical skills, industry exposure, and recognized certifications to improve their employability and career prospects. These courses cover a range of fields aligned with the evolving job market demands. They are:
1. Fashion
2. Retail and Marketing
3. Information Technology (IT)
4. Hospitality
5. Creative Arts

These courses are carefully designed to cater to the specific needs of the local youth, combining theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. With a strength of 38 students per batch, today Chinar YUVA provides skill development to more than 450 students per year.
One of the novel initiatives of the Chinar YUVA project is a Drug De-addiction Center. It was established to address substance abuse challenges in the community, offering counseling and rehabilitation services to affected individuals and families.
A significant milestone achieved by Aseem after taking over the Chinar YUVA project was the introduction of an internship program at the center. This initiative provided practical exposure to students pursuing postgraduate studies in psychology from IGNOU, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in counseling and rehabilitation services. As part of the program, these students completed a six-week internship at the Drug De-Addiction Centre in Baramulla.
